About Us

Franchising Association of India (FAI) is focused on promoting the concept of Franchising in India and on bringing in best international practices. By virtue of our membership of the prestigious World Franchise Council (WFC) we are connected with 46 similar associations of other World Franchise council member countries including International Franchising Association, US. As a part of the constitution World Franchise Council acknowledges and admits only one member association per country.

Franchising Association of India (FAI) was founded at Mumbai in 1999, as a Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by Mr. C Y Pal, National President- FAI to promote the concept of franchising. FAI is the only recognised voice of the rapidly growing franchising industry for lobbying with the Government for policy initiatives for development of the industry.

Franchising in India is in the nascent stages of growth, thus, making decisions about the future can be very difficult. Franchising is ideally suited for the ever growing entrepreneurial spirit in India. Buying a franchise is a major decision, the commitment in capital and borrowings can be significant. A new entrant into the sector needs to consider the process very carefully. Informal statistics indicate that 90% of entrepreneurs entering business through franchising have succeeded, conversely 90% stand alone entrepreneurs failed in their new venture within a span of five years. Franchising is not a guarantee for success; as with any business there are risks involved; but they can be reduced with effective research.

FAI acts as an interface by providing a platform for networking between franchisors, consultants, investors and budding entrepreneurs exploring new business opportunities in franchising.

FAI solicits the participation of all industry players for the benefit and development of the franchising industry.
